Literacy Activities
- Make a letter H out of construction paper and turn it into a house (see picture above)! Our girls loved this and kept wanting to add more and more details, including a bed, a door that swings open, and a little girl peeking out
- Make your own Hh is for House watercolor page. We always do this! Simple and fun.
- Talk about the sound that H makes. We use the Letter Factory Song (to the tune of the Farmer in the Dell):
- The H says, “heh.” The H says, “heh.” Every letter makes a sound. The H says, “heh.”
- The H says, “heh.” The H says, “heh.” Every letter makes a sound. The H says, “heh.”
- See if your child can think of any other words that start with “heh”- heart, help, hug, hurt, hike, hello, hawk, hand, etc.
- Draw bubble letters Hh and have your child put stickers in the open space. This is good for fine motor skills as well.
