Hi!

We are the Shanks: Andrew, Trish, Sophie, and Emmaline.

I’m Trish. I am a former Spanish Teacher and Cross Country Coach turned homeschooling momma and wanna be homesteader. I like to think of myself as a domestic engineer, though Andrew is the true engineer in our family.

Andrew is a Campus Minister with RUF. In our home, he gets the award for reading the most books! He also gets the best husband and dad award!

Sophie, Maggie, and Emmaline are our three sweet girls.

We love words and books! Our hope is that this will be a blog where our family can share what we are reading and the joy and wisdom that good books, and especially THE Good Book, can bring.

By wisdom a house is built,
